Grampians base camp – Autumn – Spring

An opportunity to immerse your senses in the Grampians.  Join us Autumn through to Spring. Enjoy wildflowers, campfire and fresh air.

On this trip you will have the opportunity to learn about the Aboriginal culture in the grampians, going on walks that allow you to take in wide views, amazing rock formations and water features.

This trip you will also come together as a group, share and grow together around a campfire as well as have the opportunity to take time out for your own reflection.

    Location: Grampians National Park – camping at Borough huts / troopers creek

    Challenge level: All levels of fitness
    Duration: 4 days, 3 nights

    What to bring: day pack, water bottle, suncream, hat and jacket, good walking shoes. Small tent, sleeping bag and sleeping mat (or hire from us). Your own plate, bowl, cap and utensils, basic toiletries (there will not be any showers available on this trip).

      Itinerary:

      Day 1.
      Travel to Halls Gap. Visit the cultural centre and – possibly participate in a welcome to country and bush tucker walk.  Take a short walk, set trip intentions. Travel to camp and set up.

       

      Day 2.
      Taking our time in the morning with gentle movement and reflection before packing our lunch and heading up Boronia peak (6.6km return) with a picnic lunch at the top. We return to camp with time for down time, and / or solo time before we prepare and share a delicious meal together.

      Day 3.
      Exploring another walk in the wonderland area of the grampians, there will be some choice as a group to decide on distance (up to 10km) and difficulty in the walk.

      Day 4.
      Pack up camp, group choice of final walk – give options – all short – including falls walks – eg Beehive falls, or visit aboriginal cave site. Final reflection and travel back to Melbourne.
